Necro Butcher Says He Signed A Basic Legends Deal With WWE

Necro Butcher says he has signed a basic Legends Deal with WWE — a company he has never wrestled a single match for.

The independent wrestling icon announced the deal in a Facebook post, writing that the offer came in the day after he left his job. "The timing was ridiculous," he wrote. He added that the door is now open for various projects that have already been discussed, though he said he is taking things slowly.

Necro Butcher built his reputation in deathmatches, most famously in IWA: Mid South. His bout against Samoa Joe became one of the most discussed matches in independent wrestling history and was featured on a recent season of Dark Side of the Ring. He never received a call from WWE during his active career.

In his post, he framed the deal as bigger than himself. "I hope this leads to more opportunities for guys who never got that call to the big time," he wrote. "This is OUR reward."

He also made clear what the deal will not change. He said he will not miss his scheduled shows and will not be making apology videos or speeches. "Nothing was more important to me than credibility and believability," he wrote.

The post included a photo that appears to show the agreement between Necro Butcher and WWE. Neither WWE nor Necro Butcher has publicly commented beyond the Facebook post, and the company has not confirmed the deal.
If confirmed, the signing would mark an unusual move for WWE, which typically reserves Legends deals for performers with prior history in the company. For Necro Butcher, it would be recognition of a career built entirely outside the mainstream.
What remains unclear is what the deal actually includes — and when WWE might acknowledge it officially.
